Childhood memories are vivid, almost indescribable in their detail, and impossible to forget. A Christmas memory I have is that of a black velvet dress  a family friend gave to me for my seventh Christmas.

Giveaway: Mabel’s Labels

Submitted by on March 1, 2010 – 11:49 am27 Comments

This contest is now Closed. Congratulations to Tara J! She wins the loot.

(Required disclaimer: I have not received cash or gift compensation to write this post.)

This is the first time I have flat-out gone and asked a company to provide products for a giveaway on the Tiki Tiki, but I did because I love Mabel’s Labels and I think our readers will too — if you don’t already.

OK, so when I went to a blog conference recently, I got a sampler pack of Mabel’s Labels in the swag bag, but I’ve been a customer for a couple of years. When Maria started school in 2007, I bought labels for her lunch box, for her shoes, rain boots and clothing — all of which were required to have her name.

Two-plus years later, the labels still are on the items.

And so, with joy, we’re sharing the greatness that is these fun labels with you, Tiki Tiki-ers.

The folks at Mabel’s Labels have agreed to offer a reader a Big Combo pack worth $55 and includes 45 sticky labels, 24 shoe labels, 50 iron-ons or 75 Tag-Mates, plus two bag tags.

The labels are safe to use in the dishwasher or laundry and they can be personalized by color and special animal or symbol icon. (We’ve go ta turtle on ours.) They’ve also got some home organizing and allergy alert labels I find pretty cool. Even cooler, the successful company was conceived and is run by moms. Mami power to the max.

The winner will receive a coupon code from Mabel’s Labels for the free purchase and shipping of the Big Combo pack. The winner must be in the U.S. or Canada.

The rules: Nothing fancy, just leave a comment on this post and consider telling us something about just how fabulous and organized you are or aren’t, or maybe about how you keep track of all your kid’s stuff, or after checking out Mabel’s Labels do you have any ideas for them?

Extra credit for good karma and nothing else: Hit the Share on Facebook button on the top right of this post.

Giveaway timeline: Giveaway runs today through 6 a.m. EST Friday, March 5.

Selection: The winner will be chosen using Random.org and notified via e-mail by the Tiki Tiki. Please be sure to leave a valid e-mail address. The winner has until 2 p.m. Monday, March 8 to contact us, or a new winner will be selected.

Good luck!

OK, and look, here is my daughter’s lunchbox with the label I affixed in the summer of 2007. And, by weird coincidence, the Mabel’s Label’s website has a “Maria” label (see above)…Meant to be? Hmmm? That’s a Laptop Lunch Box, by the way, and I love, love, love it.

Share, por favor!

Awesome giveaway — hope we win!

  • Evenshine says:

My Latinito at home would be LOST, since I work full time, without labels for both the kids’ stuff. We have some cheapies that came in the mail, but they fall off and tear and have otherwise NOT stood the test of time. Count us in for Mabel’s!!

  • Kelly says:

One time, I was on this board with other mamas and I asked them for tips because I was tired of labeling each and every item in my daughter’s lunchbox just to have it wash away in the dishwasher and they totally made fun of me (you know who you are KNT). If I had Mabel’s Labels, they not only wouldn’t make fun of me but they would be jealous as well and my plan for revenge would be complete.

  • Ana Lilian says:

I NEED these. Well, not yet, but I know I will because they will force me to be organized with my daughter´s clutter once she enters a more formal preschool environment.
On that note, I think I also need their Neat Freak combo to organize my clutter around the home.
    Great giveaway, Tikis!

  • Angel Funk says:

I need these for the upcoming school year! I have heard wonderful things about these labels in particular……

  • Amanda says:

Yo quiero!! Not only does Brandon lose his supplies at school all the time because the labels from our label maker fall off so easily, he and Matty fight over toys now, and we’re resigned to buy two of everything these days. If I win, I can label their toys and things and they won’t fight over the first one they find.

  • Tessa says:

I love and need Mabels Labels. I have been writing on my daughter’s clothes and shoes but find that the writing wears off. She same has been true with Sharpie pens on her plastic storage containers for school. These would be the perfect solution!

  • Nibal says:

Oooh … I’ve been considering new labels – perfect timing!

  • Julie DeBisschop says:

Am in desperate need of these!

  • Mara says:

Need these, want these, please choose me!

  • Karen says:

Okay, that was truly ironic. I had just signed up my son for camp when I saw your tweet last night about this giveaway. These labels would be so handy!

I try to be organized…but who are we kidding? These labels would help immensely!

    I’d love to win!

  • kari says:

I like the idea of labeling for craft supplies or where things belong.

  • LisaAnn says:

Love these! I’ve always been a labler LOL. I label all my kitchen shelves, the pantry, my craft and sewing items, etc. :) Also shared on FB!

  • Giselle says:

My 8 month daughter is in daycare and I’ve used permanent markers for everything. Since she spits up constantly, I’ve been washing all her clothes and bibs constantly. The permanent markers haven’t been doing well at all through numerous washes. Mabel’s labels would definitely fit the bill.

  • Sandra Marzol says:

Hi..oh wow..you don’t know how many times my son’s jackets(and shoes) have been givin’ away to the wrong child in daycare…I can really really use these..LOL Hope I win!!!!

  • Julia says:

I would love this package! would make getting my kids supplies ready for the new school year so much easier. Handwriting for 4 kids in school takes way too long.

  • Ashley says:

My kitchen definitely needs some more organization.

  • Melinda says:

What a great giveaway! I love to be organized but I am not as much as I would like to be. Hopefully I will win the labels and get off to a great start in getting my son’s things organized.

  • Laura says:

I would like to think that I’m organized, unfortunately for me…not so much!

  • Tara J. says:

I’ve been looking into getting Mable’s labels for a while. We are currently using the old tape and Sharpie method on our daughter’s food containers. I must say this would look even prettier!

  • Paula says:

These labels look great! I love all the colours and motifs. I am not the most organized person, and these would be great on my daughter’s preschool items!

  • Melek says:

    Great idea Carrie! :)

I became a “labelholic” years ago … my family laughs at my labeling everything. I even label the cell phone and iPod charge cords with a “folded address label” …:)!

I worked for an airline years ago and you would not believe the quantity of items that we were unable to return to their owners because they were not labeled.

I enjoyed Mabel’s Labels site and noticed the bag tags … I would suggest that they make some type of label or tag that customers can place inside the bags. If the outside bag falls off, there’s still identification inside the suticase/bag.

I wish you well :) Melek
