Childhood memories are vivid, almost indescribable in their detail, and impossible to forget. A Christmas memory I have is that of a black velvet dress  a family friend gave to me for my seventh Christmas.

Mingling in Miami

Submitted by on October 11, 2010 – 6:22 am6 Comments

Marta and I have been in Miami for a few days to attend Blogalicious, a wonderful blogging and social media conference. The event ended yesterday and it really was helpful, inspirational and professionally fabulous. We really can’t say enough good things about this conference, its founders, Ny, Stacey and Nadia, and the creative and beautiful range of attendees. (I’ll be making a list for you to follow soon!)

Not only did we get to hang out and meet people whose sites we read regularly, but we got to be together — which is a rare thing for us who have many miles between our homes in Nashville and Southern California. Skype just isn’t always enough.

El Palacio

Last night, I took Marta to El Palacio de Los Jugos on Flagler. It was her first visit. She was very impressed by Florida avocados the size of VW Beetles and the bistec sandwich hit the spot for her. I, of course, had Cuatro Leches cake. (La dieta for La Diva de Dulce Leche starts tomorrow!)

Today, we’re hanging at the beach and talking business in between sips of tropical drinks. Life is good!

While we take a little time to recharge, we thought we’d show you a little of our weekend…

The Real Deal

The Evening Look

(The Invisalign booth was a big hit at the Saturday night party…We went back several times and I always picked the pink wig! I need one.)

Anyway, if you blog, are thinking about blogging, or are looking to connect with some good people, make plans to attend next year’s Blogalicious, where ever it is held. Here’s a link to a recent NPR story about the conference.

Did you attend Blogalicious? What was your biggest take-away? (Mine was that there is great power in authenticity and consistency in this very open social Web we live in…)

Disclosure: Marta and I were sponsored at Blogalicious by Que Rica Vida.
