Childhood memories are vivid, almost indescribable in their detail, and impossible to forget. A Christmas memory I have is that of a black velvet dress  a family friend gave to me for my seventh Christmas.

Nine Things

Submitted by on September 9, 2009 – 1:05 pm8 Comments

I can’t tell you how much we at the Tiki Tiki have enjoyed getting to know you all via the quizzes that I occasionally post. And we never, ever get tired of learning things about you.

And because today is 09-09-09. I have nine questions for you (because I’m totally goofy and just a little superstitious that way, but that’s not important right now).

Okay, I’ll start. =D

my face

1. The last person I sent a card to:
One of my blog readers who won a giveaway. (I started to feel bad about this answer, but then I realized it was a very personal card because I love my blog readers that way. So, I’m okay with it now.)

2. What I ate for lunch today:
Pan con lechón. (Cuban Pork Sandwich. And yes, I made it from leftovers.)

3. Something I just learned:
How to do a screen shot on my Mac. (Apple, Shift, 3) I can’t tell you how happy this little bit of new knowledge makes me.

4. My favorite song this year:
1, 2, 3, 4 by the Plain White T’s.

5. The last book I read:
Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. (Love, love, LOVED it!)

6. What I’m wearing right now:
Black t-shirt, jeans, flip flops. (In other words, my Southern California Uniform.)

7. The last phone call I made:
The pharmacy to refill a prescription.

8. Inside, I don’t feel very different from when I was (how old?):
Seventeen. (Wow. I didn’t even have to think about that.)

9. The last restaurant I ate at was:
Ruby’s Diner with my family.

So, Tiki Tiki people, tell me nine things about you today. I love it when you play with me. =D

Share, por favor!

  • Mailyn says:

    1. The last person I sent a card to:
The husband of a very dear Cuban friend who lost his battle with cancer the day of my cousin’s birthday, and whose memorial was July 27, the day of my birthday. The card said something along the lines of never loosing the faith. It wemt along with a sample of the best of his two worlds: a bottle of Coca Cola, and a small bottle of Havana Club, three years. My friend told me Cubalibre was his favorite drink, and I felt compelled to do something special for him. It was one of the last he was able to see…

    2. What I ate for lunch today:
Small Cesar salad and junior double stack from Wendy’s. Splurged with one oof those Oreo cookie ice-cream-thing-they have. Very healthy and non-Cuban, I know ;-)

    3. Something I just learned:
I also learned yesterday how to do a screen shot on my computer. And a few minutes ago, while seeing the news, I also learned that some men can be liers no matter how important they are, while others will have a good set of pantalones, no matter how below they can be… but I guess that does not qualify as a lesson itself, right?

    4. My favorite song this year:
Save the last dance for me, by Michael Buble. Isn’t he a cutie-pie or what?

    5. The last book I read:
“Liberty and Tiranny”, by Mark Levin. Un-freaking-believable good lifetime lesson. And “Wings of the Morning” by Orestes Lorenzo, super-corageous love story, really bad English translation. “Uncommon Sense”, in book format, and “An inconveniente book”, audiobook during my morning commute. both by Glenn Beck… and I’ll better leave there. ;-)

    6. What I’m wearing right now:
Royal blue cotton dress turned into a nice and comfy bata de casa. Dupé flip-flops that I keep as a memento of a recent sad travel experience.

    7. The last phone call I made:
Mi mama, at luchtime, to ask if my son had lunch the way he is supposed to. Does Blackberry texting counts too?

    8. Inside, I don’t feel very different from when I was (how old?):
Twenty? Magic age for me, I guess. Too bad the outside part of me is not keepig up with this mimd of mine…

    9. The last restaurant I ate at was:
Panera Bread, in a lunch break where friends also brought me a mami and my kiddo…
