Childhood memories are vivid, almost indescribable in their detail, and impossible to forget. A Christmas memory I have is that of a black velvet dress  a family friend gave to me for my seventh Christmas.

For those of us who don’t live on corporate CEO budgets, there are three deals and steals sites worth checking out — each edited by a Latina, by the way.

The cleverly named Cuponeando directs you to freebies, coupons and steals in Spanish and English.

Another site, Scoring Deals, has coupons too, as well as restaurant deals and links to free fun ideas.

And, Latina on a Mission, with a tag line of “to inspire and empower” offers coupon codes, giveaways. Personally, your el buzz editor most enjoys the “chic and cheap” category over there.

Each of the three sites has a Twitter page for the latest in deals and good habla habla. You also can check out the popular Deal Seeking Mom for frugal finds and a good blogroll of other recessionista sites.

Enjoy.
