Video Buzz: Carnaval, Miami Housewives y Feisbuh

Carnaval 2011

Carnaval time in Brazil.

Today, we’re going all video. Funny ones, interesting one, amazing ones.

I’ve embedded some here, but you’ll have to click over to see some others. All worth it.

May you have a weekend full of risas y cosas buenas y que nadie te borre del Feisbuh.

Nuevo Confessionario, with English subtitles. Excellent for the Catholics among us.

Disney a lo cubano! Another hilarious find on Mario Lorenzo’s Facebook page. (NSFW)

You can watch Salvador, Brazil’s Carnaval live on a dedicated YouTube Channel through March 8. I think it will reinspire me to do nalga exercises. Oh, and you can search by artist and genre too. Muy cool.

The classic El Quijote is being read in Spanish on YouTube. It’s a global project that actually involves big names. You can get some background and good links over at Cyberambient by Frankie DeSoto. Here’s hoping Javier Bardem reads a chapter!

And finally, what video roundup would be complete without The Real Housewives of Miami? Parece que Alexia has ticked off La Ciudad que Progresa, Hialeah. Read all about it and if you haven’t seen the show. Here’s a video of the ladies answering who is the smartest.

Bravo really should have done a series on Las Chancleteras de la Saguesera. Those are the Real Housewives of Miami.

Just saying.

I can’t stand the women on the Real Housewives of Miami. There’s nothing real about them. If they want real Miami Housewives then they should really go to la Saguesera and walk into a Sedanos or una farmacia and take a look at the women dealing with the cooking, the cleaning, and picking up their own children from school. And more modern housewives do all the above and carry on with a career. I truly can’t stand these “reality” shows.

Lyanis, I hear you on the wish that Bravo would find some real women to highlight…I also had hoped the Miami Housewives would not be as catty as the others — from the limited amount of time I spent watching this series in the past. Hurts my heart. Here’s hoping the cubanitas showcase us a little better going forward. xo
