Who is on Your Short List?
Find a small piece of paper, maybe 2 x 2 inches at most.
Now, write down the names of the people whose opinion matter most to you. The very, very most.
This is your short list, the loved ones or friends who would help you move a body — as the author and researcher Brené Brown put it during a talk at Blissdom last month. (She was kidding about the body…but you get it, don’t you?)
Despite my own wide and beloved circle, there only were two names on my little piece of paper. Two. My husband was one of them. I was surprised at how truly short it was.
Although I love and adore and respect many people in my life, it all came down to two names.
It was an exercise in self-discovery and a reminder of who and what is most important in my life.
Now, your turn.
